BlackBerry is going back to its roots by releasing their newest smartphone to date, the BlackBerry Classic. The name itself is a hint of what the smartphone will look and feel like. The newest smartphone from BlackBerry is reminiscent of its previously marketed phone the BlackBerry Bold which was released three years ago.

The BlackBerry Classic sports the traditional design that Blackberry is well known for, a QWERTY keyboard, the track pad and a row of home keys.

Running in the latest BlackBerry 10.3.1 OS and packing a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon Dual-core 1.5GHz Krait chip, this smartphone will definitely give any rival a good run for their money. To complement the phones monstrously powerful chipset is the Qualcomm Adreno 225 GPU and two gigabytes of RAM.

The BlackBerry Classic also boasts a 3.5 inch display capable of resolutions up to 720 x 720 and has 294 ppi pixel density. It has multi-touch capabilities and its capacitive touchscreen can display 16M colors.

The Classic's 8MP camera can take high quality photos of up to 3264 x 2448 pixels; it has an autofocus option and a LED flash. It can also record full HD videos at 1080p with a frame rate of up to 30fps.

Also, the BlackBerry Classic is not a pushover in the storage capacity aspect. It boasts a 16GB internal memory and also gives its users an option to upgrade its storage capacity of up to 128GB using a microSD memory card.

The phone is already LTE capable. Unlike most smartphones in the market which needupgrades and patches to be able to use the LTE network, the BlackBerry Classic is already good to go. The smartphone also sports the standard 3.5mm audio jack for headphones and headsets.

The only downside the BlackBerry Classic has so far is its limited applications considering the fact that it runs in its own BlackBerry OS. The BlackBerry Classic currently costs $449 and is expected to choose AT&T or Verizon as its US network carriers.
