The 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL roadster has been updated and was displayed on Mercedes-Benz's stage at the Los Angeles auto show.

The 2017 SL550 hits 60mph in 4.3 seconds with its 4.6-liter twin-turbo V-8, which is the same as that of the heavier and bigger S-class. In addition, the car has the latest adaptive suspension technology of Mercedes-Benz for more power, more comfort and better handling, CNET reported.

In the new SL-class, the addition of Mercedes-Benz driver assistance features is the biggest improvement for stress-free driving. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL roadster gets an adaptive cruise-control system as with the SL-class.

With the cruise-control system, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL roadster can be brought to a full stop. In stop-and-go traffic, brake and acceleration can also be controlled.

In low-speed driving situations, lane lines are well defined and the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL roadster can take over the steering with the Traffic Jam Assistant.

While it was improved with a few mechanical updates, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL roadster has looks cleaned up as much as possible. The 300SL look that won the 1952 Carrera Panamericana inspired the roadster's entirely new grille, reshaped headlights and cleaner surfaces, according to Car and Driver.

While the retractable hard top folds into the trunk of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL roadster, a cargo protector makes it clear what can and cannot fit by automatically sliding over the open space.

With its Air Scarf technology, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL roadster is excellent for open-top driving in colder weather. It pampers its passengers offering warm air from the headrests of the car around passenger's necks.
