The heartwarming YouTube video of a French father's discussion with his toddler son about the November 13 Paris attacks has gone viral on social networks including Facebook and Twitter. The video is a live TV interview at a memorial site near the Bataclan Theatre where 89 people were killed in the ISIS terrorist attack. Since being uploaded on November 16, Monday the clip has been viewed about a million times.
The father Angel is originally from Vietnam. However, he now lives in France's capital with his family, according to The Telegraph.
A Canal+ TV reporter asks the young boy Brandon if he understands what happened during the Paris terrorist attacks by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) extremist group. He replies he does, and that the perpetrators were very "mean."
The boy explains that the bad guys are not very kind. Then he guesses that his family will have to move to a different house.
Brandon's father then tries to comfort him by explaining that they do not have to be frightened about the bad guys. That is because France is their home, according to The Times.
The boy is still worried. He explains to his father that the mean guys could shoot them because they have guns.
Angel then replies that while the ISIS terrorists have guns, the French people have flowers to fight the guns.
Brandon then asks his father about the candles. The boy's father explains they are a symbol of the people who died in the Paris attacks.
Angel's words seemed to comfort his son by the time the interview ended, and the boy understands that the flowers and candles could protect them. He says that he feels better.
