Eager fans of the upcoming "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" video game will have to wait a little longer. The game was originally scheduled for a Feb. 23, 2016 launch but it was recently pushed back on Aug. 23, 2016.
"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" developer Eidos Montrea announced the delay on its Twitter account with a tweet, "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is a huge project. We won't compromise on quality."
Eidos Montreal head David Anfossi provided more insight about the delay in a statement posted on the official website of "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided." Anfossi said that the studio needs more time for post-production effort in order to make sure that all the rough edges of the game has been properly polished before it hits the market.
Anfossi added, "I know that expectations are extremely high, and we not only want to meet those expectations, but exceed them."
The news was received with mix reactions. Some gamers were disappointed while some are optimistic and commended the developer's effort in order to make sure that the game is top quality. According to The Verge, it is better to play the game late than to have it early but full of bugs.
"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" is planned to be released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC platform. The game uses the Dawn Engine which is a proprietary product of Eidos Montreal.
Set in the year 2029, "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" continues the story of Adam Jensen, according to GameSpot. The game is the direct successor of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution." The "Deus Ex" franchise is known for its cyberpunk theme that combines elements of stealth and RPG.
