Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei converged to resolve the signage and posting of scenic spots in all three regions for tourism purposes. This was discussed and signed during the third meeting for Tourism Joint Development on Dec. 12.
The three regions will jointly prepare an electronic map and a road atlas that will give tourists an overview of scenic spots. They will share tourism investments and financing during the launch of winter tourism projects. In addition, all three regions will share management of a database system to report tourism grievances and a system to liaise in tourism law enforcement.
There will be more trains projected to come into service throughout the three regions for people and tourist to visit more attractions in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei by the second half of 2015.
Currently, there are no postings of any scenic spots in any of the three municipalities which can be difficult for people traveling to Hebei in finding scenic spots in Beijing and Tianjin.
According to an official of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, "in the past, signs for Beijing's scenic spots appeared nowhere but in Beijing. The situation is the same in Tianjin and Hebei. It is inconvenient for tourists. Because they are unfamiliar with the surrounding environment, they often fail to reach sites which are only a few kilometers away. Soon tourists driving on highways, state roads or provincial roads will be able to know which attractions are close to them."
The marks are planned to be put up between January and November of 2015.
Apart from the sharing of tourism announcements of the three regions, the Memorandum on Beijing-Zhangjiakou Olympic Tourism Joint Development was also signed by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development and the Zhangjiakou Municipal Government.
The agreement means that Beijing and Zhangjiakou will work hand in hand for the tourism of the upcoming winter Olympics. Skiing in Chongli, Zhangjiakou, will also be added to Beijing's winter tourism route suggestions.
