However, the Duggar matriarch decided to distance herself from the false beliefs of her husband's family by dressing her four-month-old daughter Meredith in jeans.

Duggar's cousin Amy King shared a photo of Meredith wearing pants via Instagram.

"Isn't she so cute?" she captioned the snap.

Fans of the Duggars posted a slew of mixed reactions to King's post.

According to Inquisitr, the controversial family follows the teachings of the Institute of Basic Life Principles and the Advanced Training Institute.

These teachings claim that young girls shouldn't wear jeans because they show the shape of their hips and legs.

Doing this could lead them and some men to sin.

Some fans slammed the Duggars for believing in such a ridiculous thing.

Instagram user @prinzezz_sparkle wrote, "So I just don't understand then why men don't wear skirts? Why are men allowed to show off nice bootys but for women it's a no no? And you say at age 6? Are you saying 6 years old have curves that need to be hidden from men?"

Another fan @llamsfanclub wrote, "From what they say on the show skirts are encouraged ultimately the girls choice. So I'm thinking they can change their mind and put pants on... As far as the child, in all the winter episode at least 1 female has pants under their skirts.

In other news, Duggar's recent decision to dress her daughter as such reportedly signifies that she's ready to end her marriage to Josh.
