The exhibit showcases recent works and achievements by China's notable artists, displaying current Chinese culture and heritage in a wide range of aesthetic and visual appeal. The creativity and techniques displayed in the artworks show courage and extensive knowledge in exploring different fields of visual media.

The exhibit also aims to initiate and embed artistic creation among the Chinese people to create a wonderful retelling of the Chinese history and development on canvas and other media, in celebration of the 65th anniversary of New China. To achieve this, the organizing committee sent art scholars and experts to nationwide exhibition subareas to inspect, guide, evaluate, hold seminars, manage and strive to improve the quality and design of the exhibition.

The exhibit was widely participated by artists from all over China. The show also serves as a platform for new and upcoming artists, giving them an opportunity to realize their dreams and introduce their works to the public.

The pieces highlight various themes ranging from modern science to ethnic practices, from moon exploration to practical disaster solutions. Aside from the urban landscape of modern China, sections of the exhibit also show cultural practices by ethnic and rural communities.

A total of 576 pieces are on display. Several of which have already received awards from the event's committee, garnering gold, silver and bronze awards for their excellence.

The exhibit will also be toured in Shanghai and Shandong Province, New Zealand, Japan, the United States, Italy and finally ending in Beijing on Jan. 4, 2015.
