Marvel and DC could be merged in the small screen through "Grey's Anatomy" alum Chyler Leigh, who plays Alex Danvers, Kara Danvers/Supergirl's (Melissa Benoist) sister in the CBS television series "Supergirl."
In her interview with Paste Magazine, Leigh mentioned that Chris Evans, who is playing "Captain America" in Marvel's Cinematic Universe, was her boyfriend in the 2001 comedy film, "Not Another Teen Movie." With this, she was retroactively merging the Marvel and DC Universes.
Leigh said that while she had not known she had had that kind of "pull," that was really funny and that was the first time she was actually hearing it. She added there was fan fiction all over, even when she was on "Grey's Anatomy" and one would have heard all sorts of stuff and watch people create side stories.
For Leigh, bridging a gap between Marvel and DC would create a positive impact in the fan fiction world and she thought that was really cool. With her character and that of Evans well-established in the two comic book universes, a crossover between Danvers and Captain America would be interesting to see, both in the small screen and in the big screen.
Aside from Joel Gallen's comedy film "Not Another Teen Movie" and Shonda Rhimes' romantic drama television series "Grey's Anatomy," Leigh is also known for her roles in Gabe Torres' thriller film "Brake" and Michael Scott's comedy romance TV movie "Window Wonderland."
Meanwhile, Kara Danver is set to explore her better self when she goes too far during a training exercise with Red Tornado in "Supergirl" season 1 episode 6 titled "Red Faced." According to Spoilers Guide, the training would place personal and professional stress to the superheroine when she trains with Red Tornado, a military cyborg commissioned by General Sam Lane, Lucy Lane's father.
Airing on Nov. 30, "Supergirl" season 1 episode 6 would also see Cat Grant's exterior get shaken by a visit from her judgmental mother, Katherine, while Alex taps Winn to look into her father's enigmatic death.
