Porsche has just released the latest model of its sports car to join its Motorsport lineup dubbed, the 2016 Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

The Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport initially made its début at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto show and represents a mid-engine second track-only race car that has been designed specifically for club and amateur racing.

The car is believed to have borrowed some roots from the Porsche Cayman GT4, which is a street-legal version. Just like the Cayman GT4, the 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 is powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six engines with a horsepower of 385.

However, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport racecar has been modified by incorporating a 6-speed dual clutch PDK transmission with additional shift paddles fixed to the steering wheel. The PDK transmission enables the car to take quicker shifts so as to attain maximum speeds.

What is more, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport includes a mechanical rear axle locking differential. It also features a lightweight front suspension brace front axle and a braking system like that of the 911 GT3, Car and Driver reported. Consequently, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport possesses a weight of 2,866 pounds, which is 100 pounds less than the road -ready GT4.

Besides these, the 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport has safety equipment such as; a six-point harness, a welded roll cage, a central suppression system and a racing bucket seat.

The North American version of the car comes with an 18.5 gallon FT3 safety fuel tank with an added flexibility of allowing the driver choose it, or an upgrade to 26.5 gallons, Slash Gear reported.

The 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport can be ordered from the Porsche Company for $165,000 while the 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 is also available for $84,600.
