A Danish man has claimed that in October an Apple Watch became so hot that the wearable device caused severe wrist burns, and waited for weeks while Apple checked out his story. However, after the tech giant examined the digital timepiece and the band, it reported there is no solid proof that the smartwatch caused his severe burns, and explained that the strap's damage resulted from an external source. It also added that no electronics in the band could get hot enough to sear a person's skin.

The story was first reported by the Danish news site Ekstra Bladet.

Jørgen Mouritzen is the person from Denmark who claimed the Apple wearable caused his wrist burns. He said that it happened this year on October 17.

An eyewitness of the event reported that he also saw the smartwatch burn Mouritzen. They both claim that they saw heat released from the Watch itself, according to 9To5Mac.

Apple has reported that the issue is a private one between the California-based company and Mouritzen. Nevertheless, the photos are serious. They show deep burn marks in the victim's wrist, and a burned band, according to PhoneArena.

Mouritzen has asked Apple to replace the smart watch. However, since the tech giant is not making any comments about the event, it is unclear if it will give him a brand new wrist wearable.

Apple provides a warning to Apple Watch owners that some materials used to manufacture the wearable can cause an allergic reaction. It also advises people not to wear the watch too tightly or loosely.

Many earlier reports showed "burns" that looked like rashes. However, severe burns are a different issue.
