On Dec. 26, Friday, local prosecutors raided LG's headquarters in Seoul, South Korea and Changwon factory due to Samsung's allegation concerning their washing machine. During the IFA 2014 event, LG executives were said to have deliberately sabotaged their rivals' washing machine in two retail stores in Germany, Reuters reported.

It can be recalled that both Korean-based tech giant are not only competing in the smartphone arena but also in home appliance scene.

Investigators from Seoul Central District stormed LG's home appliances department and took all documents plus computer hard drives that is linked on IFA 2014 fair.

It is worthy to note that Seoul Central District prosecutors forced a travel ban against Jo Seong-jin for not responding on multiple request of investigation. LG's accused executive and Home Appliance Chief Jo Seong-jin said that he will cooperate. Though, there's a catch as he would only be able to comply with the investigation after CES 2015.

Lawsuits filed by Samsung to LG Electronics include property damage, obstruction of business and defamation.

Samsung spokesperson said in a prepared statement, as cited by The Wall Street Journal, "Despite our best efforts to avoid further confrontation and escalation of the situation, the company in question has tarnished not only Samsung's brand image but also the reputation of Samsung employees by making slanderous claims that our washing machines were defective."
