The latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow updates have been launched, but the updates have only reached selected ranges of Android One Smartphones.

The Android One handsets are prevalently found in the different developing markets and this is the first Smartphone which has received this particular update. Marshmallow update was given to Cherry Mobile G1, which is a very prevalent Smartphone in Philippines. All of the Nexus devices that have been launched till date are continuing to use Android Marshmallow 6.0, which also includes the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X.

There are sources reporting that the update is not a very major one. The update brought some bug fixes, improvements in stability and a few tweaks here and there. This Android One Marshmallow update has no relation with Google's security patch launched this November.

Though there have been myths that the monthly security updates for this November by Google have been integrated, but this is not true for sure. The monthly update for November had already been released and the Android version number still remains unchanged. Thus, it proves that Marshmallow 6.0.1 update has no relation with Google's monthly security update.

It has also been reported that the 6.0.1 Marshmallow is indeed a very minor update in comparison to the yet to be launched Android 6.1 Marshmallow, which is expected to be launched early next year. The 6.1 update is expected to bring in many important updates which may bring in a lot of value and convenience to the users.
