Rumors about PlayStation 5 has been spreading like wild bushfire over the internet for quite a while now, containing news about the new chipset and a possibility of an early release.

Currently, the PlayStation 4 has been released in November 2013, making the PS4 officially 2 years old. Not quite old enough since the console generations typically last anywhere between five to over 6 years plus an extended shelf life of three to five more years. That's a lot of life left for PS4 timeline, even then rumors have started appearing making a hint that PlayStation 5 may be making an appearance within a decade, Parent Herald reported.

But it seems the console generation is on the rush. There is also rumors that Xbox will also be having a new early release. Considering current decade will be ending in 2020, so it looks like both consoles are hunting for the best date, especially that the crowd is finding their way into appreciating the virtual reality and 4k video is actually growing by the minute.

With that being said, AMD is attempting to make an appeal to two giants, Microsoft and Sony for a new chipset of next-generation kind, which can actually handle VR and 4k gaming. PS4 is currently using AMP APU which is based on microarchitecture known as Jaguar, which allows the new generation console into moving to x86 architecture which will enables backward compatibility with older console version of games, Tech Times reported.

Sticking to AMD's hardware would mean a lot of benefits which includes, their custom chipset will enable the future release PS5 perform 5 times per watt than PS4 can currently handle. This just means the hood can allow PS5 to handle 4K graphics and VR by the time other technology become established in 2020.

.But again these are just rumors, but it looks rather encouraging and possible. It is up to Sony to decide for the future of PS5.
