On Nov. 4, fans had a glimpse on a bearded Benedict Cumberbatch, who is set to play Marvel's Sorcerer Supereme, in the Nepal set. Then on Nov. 7, fans were also able to have a closer look at Chiwetel Ejiofor, who will play Strange's nemesis Baron Karl Mordo in Derrickson's "Doctor Strange."

Aside from Cumberbatch and Ejiofor, "Doctor Strange" also stars Tilda Swinton, Michael Stuhlbarg, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, Amy Landecker, and Scott Adkins.

Swinton will play the Ancient One, Strange's mentor. The character's gender is set to be swapped from male to female in Derrickson's film. Michael Stuhlbarg will be playing Nicodemus West, Strange's rival scientist.

According to recent reports, Rachel McAdams was set to play the role of the Night Nurse, which had debunked earlier reports saying that she would play Clea, Strange's love interest and fellow sorcerer. "Transparent" actress Amy Landecker has also joined the cast; however, her role is being kept under wraps for the time being.

According to previous reports, "Hannibal" actor Mads Mikkelsen was set to play the role of Mephisto or Dormammu, while other reports said that the actor might not appear in Derrickson's forthcoming film.

With various speculations on his character, Mikkelsen remained silent about his role in "Doctor Strange," IGN reported. In his recent interview with the publication, the actor just said that he had not shot anything yet, so he had been spending his time running rehearsal on all kind of things.

The most recent addition to Derrickson's "Doctor Strange" is "The Bourne Ultimatum" actor and martial artist Scott Adkins. Adkins' role had not yet been revealed; however, previous reports said that he would have a number of scenes featuring hand-to-hand combat. Based on this information, Adkins could play the role of Wong, Stephen Strange's manservant and closest ally.

Derrickson's "Doctor Strange" will not be an origin story, but will still center on the exploits of Strange, a neurosurgeon who loses his hands' fine motor skills after an accident. He meets the Ancient One, a master of magic who trains him to become the Sorcerer Supreme and defend the world from evil.

Derrickson's "Doctor Strange" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Nov. 4, 2016.
