After a positive initial reception, game developer Square Enix announced that it will be releasing a free expansion pack for its mobile game "Lara Croft GO".

Released in June of this year for Android and IOS, Lara Croft: GO is a turn-based puzzle game where the player takes control of video game heroine Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider franchise as she embarks on several missions exploring a variety of tombs. The player is tasked with solving puzzles that would then unlock new areas or grant items.

There is also an element of action, similar to Square Enix Montreal's earlier Hitman GO mobile game, as gamers have to guide Croft in taking down targets through a combination of stealthy tactics and using disguises.

The new expansion pack titled "Lara Croft GO: Shard of Life" was released to users last Nov. 26. It contains a new chapter that adds to the main game's original five. It also introduces 26 new puzzles, increasing the total to 101, Tech Times revealed.

Aside from the new missions, the expansion also comes with two new unlockable costumes for Lara, increasing the in-game customization options for her. There is a newly-included snapshot feature as well as an updated language selection screen that now supports traditional Chinese.

As part of the promotion for the new expansion pack, Square Enix also announced that they will be giving a 40 percent discount for the game, The News Independent reported. "Lara Croft GO" normally costs $4.99, but will be down to $2.99 for a limited time only. On the other hand, those who already own the game can download the expansion for free.
