The Nintendo NX blueprint points to an entirely new gaming concept that a new report said is yet to be seen in existing consoles. The NX on release date, while competing with the Sony PS4 and Microsoft Xbox One, will offer a different gaming experience, which the same report added is far different from the Wii U.

Nintendo has previously dropped clues that the NX when unboxed will not replace any of the 3DS and Wii U but the company allowed that the plan involves coming up with a machine designed to overpower both the PS4 and Xbox One. It appears that this will be achieved by powering the device with an AMD APU.

Per CrossMap, Nintendo is working closely with the giant chipmaker, which reportedly has been tasked to develop a customized processor for the NX that adheres to both the x86 and ARM standard. Apparently, the chief design of the planned NX APU is for the device to perform other functions apart from its core feature - gaming.

Work on this supposedly fresh Nintendo NX concept is already underway and if AMD is to be believed, the rollout time will happen as early as 2016, likely in the second half of the year, the CrossMap report added.

The report also pointed to recently-leaked Nintendo patents that appear to support the development of a next-gen console that is shaping up as a hybrid machine - with a controller that is quite similar to that of the handheld 3DS and a main component that will make the device a sequel to the Wii U. But as Nintendo has emphasized, the NX launch will not bump off any of the two.

The pronouncement appears to agree with that of the latest note from gaming industry analyst Michael Pachter. Pachter is also convinced that Nintendo is unleashing a convergence device in the NX or a cross between mobile and home device.

"I think you will see Nintendo games launch on NX and maybe on mobile later," Pachter was quoted by Wii U Daily as saying. It would be unsurprising too if the game device is unpacked bundled with some of hit Nintendo game titles such as the Super Smash Bros. and The Legend of Zelda, the analyst added.

Pachter predicted too that the Nintendo NX will prove more successful than the Wii U, likely selling around 30 million units in the months and years following its release date, which as mentioned will happen no later than December 2016.
