"Material Girl" Madonna took to Facebook to apologize for the photos she used to promote her latest album titled "Rebel Heart" and offered explanation, as well.

"I'm sorry. I'm not comparing my self to anyone. I'm admiring and acknowledging there Rebel Hearts. This is niether a crime or an insult or racist!" Madonna wrote. "I also did it with Michael jaclson and frida khalo and marilyn Monroe. Am I saying I am them. NO. I'm saying they are Rebel Hearts too."

Madonna also pointed out that it was her fans who did the "Rebel Heart" photos and she just re-posted them. On the other hand, she clarified that her fans are not racist. In the photos, Madonna's back "Rebel Hearts" cord is wrapped around the faces of Bob Marley, Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr.

"If they put me in the same category as these other people. Thank you. I'm very flattered and I hope one day to live up to 1 100th of what those people accomplished," Madonna wrote.

The 56-year-old pop star also shared a "Rebel Heart" photo of the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry, the late Princess Diana who was known for her international philanthropic efforts.

Scheduled to be officially released by Interscope Records on March 10, "Rebel Heart" is Madonna's 13th studio album. After 13 early demos of the album were leaked, six of its tracks were officially released on Dec. 20, 2014.

Among Madonna's collaborators in the "Rebel Heart" album are Diplo and Avicii. One of the songs titled "Bitch I'm Madonna" features Nicki Minaj.
