Following its release in theaters, Peter Sohn's "The Good Dinosaur" is set to follow the path of Peyton Reed's "Ant-Man," according to recent reports.

"The Good Dinosaur" found itself in a boat similar to Reed's "Ant-Man," according to Forbes. Just like "Ant-Man," "The Good Dinosaur" opened in theaters with little thrill or buzz, aside from being the second Pixar film of the year.

With regard the reviews, "The Good Dinosaur" stands on the "good, not great" cohort and the audience regarded it as a direct and conservative animated film. This was because of Disney's focus on J.J. Abrams' upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" and the press' concentration on Ryan Coogler's "Creed."

In addition, Disney also dropped Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War" trailer the night prior to "The Good Dinosaur's" release, which high affected the latter film's exposure on various social media platforms. Similarly, "The Good Dinosaur" is not a sequel, just like "Ant-Man," and it did not have an eccentric premise to show to its audience.

While "The Good Dinosaur" is not a flop, it may eventually become one of Pixar's lowest grossing animated feature.

Following its debut on Nov. 25, Sohn's "The Good Dinosaur" got an estimated domestic gross of $56.8 million and an estimated foreign gross of $28.7 million, for an estimated gross of $85.5 million on a global scale, according to Box Office Mojo.

With regard to "Ant-Man," Marvel's tiniest superhero is set to appear in the Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" before he continues his adventures with The Wasp in Reed's "Ant-Man and the Wasp."

"The Good Dinosaur" is still showing in theaters. Reed's "Ant-Man and the Wasp" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 6, 2018 while the Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
