With the Rockets' continued struggles early this season, recent NBA trade rumors have emerged that Houston is planning to deal mercurial point guard Ty Lawson during the midseason in order to fix what seems to be a "bad fit" in the team's backcourt.
Basketball Insider's Steve Kyler noted that "the Rockets have lost seven of their last 10 games" prior to their recent 108-101 win over the New Orleans Pelicans and "rank 24th in point differential, losing by an average of 6.1 points per game and have yet to find the defensive presence the coaching change was supposed to help restore".
Lawson is allegedly seen as one of the reasons for the team's decreasing defensive intensity, which led to his relegation to the bench by interim head coach J.B. Bickerstaff.
Seventeen-year vet Jason Terry replaced him in the starting lineup with the returning Patrick Beverley as the main backup, making Lawson the third-stringer at the no. 1 spot.
This kind of demotion may be an indication that the franchise is ready to re-trade the former Denver Nugget when the trade restriction for recently signed free agents is lifted by mid-December.

Derrick Rose's persistent "health concerns" is the premise of the proposal as the tandem of Kirk Hinrich and Aaron Brooks seems to be no longer effective in spelling the 2011 MVP whenever he is not available.
It is understandable as both Hinrich and Brooks are already in the wrong side of 30 and are not the players that they once were.
Lawson at 28 years old is a tad better when it comes to age and is also a floor general of All-Star caliber if given enough playing time and touches. He should get all of those playing for the Bulls.
