"The Walking Dead" (TWD) has not featured any major character death in the first part of Season 6 except Deanna, the Alexandria's leader. While it is too early to expect synopsis for Episode 9, spoilers from various sources are teasing some major events in the midseason premiere.

Fans must brace themselves to bid goodbye to some of the characters in an explosive spring premiere. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, "The Walking Dead" co-creator, Scott M. Gimple hinted at "quite deadly" and "intense" Episode 9. "There is some death going on in that but it's also unbelievably intense. It's one of the most intense episodes we've done," the showrunner said.

"The intensity by the end of that episode is not gut-wrenching - it's gut-swirling and gut-slamming andfrappéing," he added.

Gimple's statement and other events in the midseason finale led to the rise of a frenzy of speculations. Several media outlets are speculating that Norman Reedus' iconic character Daryl Dixon might actually be the one biting the dust in Episode 9. According to Independent, the introduction of Negan and his group, the Saviours, is an indicator of another major death.

In Robert Kirkman's comic books, Negan kills Glenn. However, in the TV series, that might not be the case considering how the show brought Glenn back to life when he was assumed to be dead by his group members. Huffington Post notes that Daryl Dixon already seems to be filling up for Glenn's part from the comics.

Meanwhile, Sasha, Daryl and Abraham killed several people from the other group in Episode 6. This group is speculated to be the Saviours being led by Negan. Thus, Negan is expected to return for revenge for the death of his group members.

Speaking about Negan's first appearance, expected to be in Episode 9, Scott M. Gimple said that "there are a lot of direct moments from the comic coming up in the second half and panels that we're bringing to life - from very big comic moments to really tiny comic moments. Things that are not gigantic and dramatic but just little moments from the comic that all add up to some big moments."

Earlier, "The Walking Dead" actor Andrew Lincoln, who plays the role of Rick Grimes, told Huffington Post that Episode 9 of Season 6 is craziest so far. It is that one segment where the actor feels the showrunner and his team has "outdone themselves."

In his latest interview with Entertainment Weekly, Andrew Lincoln describes Episode 9 as "the most ambitious, and the most epic and just insane, emotional, action-overload" they have ever attempted.

A promo video for "The Walking Dead" Season 6 Episode 9 has been released teasing the events of "No Way Out." It showcases Abraham, Daryl Dixon and Sasha's first encounter with the Saviours. Scroll down to watch the promo video.
