With J.J. Abrams' upcoming space sci-fi film "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" hitting theaters soon, ticket prices have increased.

According to Yahoo, prices for "Star War: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" tickets that were originally priced at less than $100 have become about $1000. While the said price encompasses an entry to Disney's Hollywood Studios, it is still viewed as a high price for a movie night.

Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" has already sold more than $50 million in advanced tickets, according to Cinema Blend. In fact, ticket websites crashed when ticket were released for sale in November. Also, some analysts believe that the film will open with $200 million in its first weekend. This entails possible increase in the ticket price as the film approaches it release in theaters.   

Set 30 years after the events in the "Return of Jedi," Abram's "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" stars an ensemble of both old and new heroes and villains played by Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Max von Sydow, Simon Pegg, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill, among others.

Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is slated to premiere in theaters on Dec. 18 while Gareth Edwards's "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" premieres on Dec. 16, 2016. Meanwhile, Johnson's "Star Wars: Episode VIII" hits theaters on May 26, 2017 while Colin Trevorrow's "Star Wars: Episode IX" premieres in 2019.
