Controversial singer Miley Cyrus just rendered a normal performance of a favorite Christmas carol "Silent Night" at "A Very Murray Christmas."

Her performance is a far cry from the different gimmicks that Miley had done in the past to gain attention, from riding a wrecking ball to twerking and wearing the flimsiest of outfits. Her normal performance even surprised Elle which notes that since the former Disney star guested on Bill Murray's Netflix holiday special, people have been guessing "what kind of festive insanity" viewers would be in for.

The magazine was guessing she could be wearing nothing but Santa hat nipple pasties, but she instead came in a Santa-themed mini and matching slipper-heels. Before "Silent Night," she prances around with Murray and George Clooney singing "Sleigh Ride," but after that number, Miley just sat on the piano and delivered "the most beautiful version of 'Silent Night' that reminds us that behind all the out-there outfits and crazy shenanigans" is a very talented singer."

Elle says Miley's version of "Silent Night" will make even the most jaded Miley observer fall in love with her again and get viewers in the holiday spirit.

Vanity Fair credits Miley and George with saving Bill's Christmas special. Since Miley joined the special, Murray has been praising the controversial singer, saying, "It was stunning to work with her."

He points out, "All you hear, is [negative tabloid stories] and then you work with her and realize, 'OH! She's really a trouper. She came through in a huge way for us ... Is she asked me to push start her car, I would do it."

"A Very Murray Christmas" started to stream on Netflix on Friday. Murray is Vanity Fair's cover story for December.
