"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 lead star Ellen Pompeo recently teased the show's upcoming ninth episode next year.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actress said that she's a huge fan of the episode's director Denzel Washington.
"He's amazing. Let's just say I'm a huge fan. It's a total dream come true," she said.
Meanwhile, Pompeo also revealed that "The Sound of Silence" is the best episode she's ever starred in.
This could serve as an indication the ninth episode could be even better than season 11's emotional installment that showed Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) demise.
"It's for sure the best thing I've ever done on the show. We've never had anybody of his caliber come and direct our show ever. His charisma, he changes the energy in the room completely. Everybody is just at the top of their game," she said.
In other news, Wet Paint released a behind-the-scene clip from "The Sound of Silence" that showed Meredith (Pompeo) being wheeled by Dr. Bailey (Chandra Wilson).
By the looks of it, Meredith might have gotten herself in an accident that's why she couldn't walk.
Pompeo also admitted that there's some pressure to make sure that fans will continue to be hooked on the show every week.
"We're so lucky to have the fans still so engaged in the show. We owe it to them to give it 200 percent every time," she said.
"The Sound of Silence" will also reveal the new relationship statuses of Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex (Justin Chambers), as well as April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams).
"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 episode 9 will premiere on ABC on Feb. 11, 2016 at 8 p.m. ET.
