One can now wash smartphone by using "foamy" soap to clean a bacteria-laden smartphone as the world's first washable phone is set to launch in Japan.
Japanese telecom company KDDI Corp. says that their development team had tested the smartphone by washing it more than 700 times, The Japan Times reported. This is to test the durability of the phone according the company. The waterproof smartphone is predicted to cost 21,600 Japanese yen (175 U.S. dollars), the report added.
But the Japanese company said that the kind of soap that could be used for the phone is the only kind of "foamy" soap which in only available in Japan.
The Japanese company is Kyocera. This company's new concept, the Digno rafre, targets parents as market of the washable smartphone which aimed for parents who want to wash their smartphone to keep it clean for their toddlers.
It is not only for the hygienic feature of the phone, but also its specs. The phone has a microSD slot that makes the phone extending its external memory to 128 GB, The Monitor Daily reported. Furthermore, it works with Android 5.1 Lollilop OS, supports 4G LTE, WiMax and VoLTE. The phone also has 3000 mAh battery, the report added.
Furthermore, the report said that the phone has Smart Sonic Receiver that transmits audio signal through vibrations while the touchscreen is supported by Dragontail X technology.
The release of the world's first washable smartphone is on Dec. 11 to be sold in Japan.
