Epic Games' new MOBA Game "Paragon" will blow fans away. Announced in the recently concluded PlayStation Experience 2015 keynote address, this new multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game has been in the works for some time now.
Epic Games is the studio that created the "Gears of War" series, the massively popular Xbox title. The multiplayer shooter "Paragon" will be released for Playstation 4 and PC, according to Destructoid.
MOBA's gameplay is similar to the popular multiplayer games "League of legends" (LOL), "Defense of the Ancients" (DOTA) and "Smite." The gameplay involves a team of five players each, from two opposite bases fighting for domination of the entire single map.
The unique aspect of "Paragon" is that a card-dueling aspect is included as well. On how it will be used in the game is still unclear. It will be an interesting dynamic that we can just wait and see to appreciate.
The announcement included an impressive trailer for the "Paragon" that shows a unique take on the MOBA genre, giving players a third-person perspective of the action. The footage shows in-game action and cutscenes as well. The game, which is made using Unreal Engine 4 graphics looked amazing based on the trailer.
Like most MOBAs, "Paragon" plans to feature a diverse and continually growing selection of Heroes with, according to the Epic Games' website, "unique abilities designed to complement your allies and dominate your opponents."
To build anticipation, the studio will be showcasing a new Hero to the public each week before the launch. The studio plans to launch the open beta in early 2016, which will then be followed by a paid access later on. This unique take on the MOBA genre should excite old and new fans alike, as Epic Games has always been known to deliver high-quality titles in the past.
