GoPro has finally announced another price cut for Hero4 Session camera in time for holiday season.
Originally, GoPro Hero4 Session camera costs $400 but received a $100 off the price in September in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. It was the same price as the Hero4 Silver, which had a higher-quality image sensor and was simply a much better camera.
The camera was a tough sell at its original $400. But now, the price of the Hero4 Session has been dropped again all the way down to $200. The company says they have revised the pricing based on the feedback it received from customers and retailers.
In addition, GoPro did not consider that lots of competitors are providing identical products with better characteristics at about half the cost their camera. One of its competitors is the Wi-Fi-enabled Cube+ Polaroid, which costs just $150 and looks so much like the Hero4 Session, CNet reported.
The Hero4 Session is GoPro’s smallest camera. The little, unibody cube camera is a waterproof on its own and is even more versatile in the ways it can be mounted thanks to its lightness, its shape, and its size. It can fit even in narrow spaces and also allows more mounting options. Compared to the GoPro Hero4 Silver, the former has limited capabilities.
The cube camera features a waterproof design and can record high-quality Full HD videos at 60fps while it can also churn out images at a resolution of 8MP. Taking quality footage underwater is easy, but it can only function to a maximum depth of 10 feet underwater.
Other notable features include a microUSB port, a microSD card slot along with a dual-microphone and a non-removable battery which can last for a maximum of two hours once fully charged.
GoPro hopes that this price cut will encourage customers to purchase Sessions by the pallet and gift them to friends and family for the holidays, according to Gizmodo.
