Microsoft has launched Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.29 for devices enrolled in the Windows Insider program.
Microsoft officials are referring to the update as a Cumulative Update, rather than a typical preview build. The build rolled out over the weekend; Lumia 950 and 950 XL will receive the update next week. Windows 10 Mobile has the chops, and more importantly the apps, to compete against iOS and Android.
The Redmond, Washington-based tech company explains that it has improved the performance of its new Edge browser, which will eventually replace Internet Explorer. The new set of code will help people upgrade their phones with less hassle and contain an enhanced application backward compatibility for Windows Phone 8.1 Silverlight applications, according to Tech Crunch.
Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.29 also includes updated-completion to allow user to more easily edit the end of the URL in the address bar and an added Bluetooth stability improvements. It fixes the switching feature of active cellular connectivity profile on Dual SIM devices. The build 10586.29 also mends the enabling data profiles, restoring it correctly in the out of box experience.
Microsoft also plans to add some new Windows Phones to its list of devices which can run Insider Previews. The new devices, which will be added next week, are LG Lancet and Microsoft Lumia 550.
Windows Insider Chief Gabe Aul stated that new Windows 10 mobile devices and existing devices are upgraded to Windows 10, all of our users will start to see more updates coming through Windows Update. These will be addressing feedback we receive from our Windows Insiders and new Windows 10 users.
In addition, he said that inexperienced users should not install these versions because they are generally buggy and some things might not work as expected, SoftPedia News reported.
