The rumors further heat up that Cloud Strife of Final Fantasy VII will soon join the Super Smash Bros. 4 roster of fighters and the new character's release date is happening this December 2015. But the Super Smash DLC is not ending with the entry of the FF7 hero as the speculations remain that Shovel Knight and one more character are still lined up for the grand brawl.

As Cloud is definitely on course to spice up the already fun Super Smash setting, Master Herald said that the FF7 hero's entry is a surprising but welcome development for Smashers. Nintendo made a good choice as the legendary is certain to excite fans of the role-playing game title. With Cloud as among the Smashers, gamers will delightfully access his patented "Odin Summon move along with his impressive edge breaks on every opponent."

The nearly always ominous-looking Cloud that wields the gigantic Buster Sword and with outfits that fit the prevailing mood is surely a fresh Super Smash texture that will swiftly catch on the brawling gameplay, the report said. The FF7 legend is no doubt a Smash Bros. add-on to look forward to.

But the report also insists that there is more to come aside from Cloud Stride. The upcoming Super Smash DLC is designed to accommodate five key expansions - three new characters and two additional game stages.

It appears that the first two slots will soon be filled by Cloud's Super Smash debut and with him the Midgar stage will be added, leaving three more vacancies, as indicated in recent reports, open.

One slot is likely still reserved for one character that dominated the Super Smash DLC rumors before Cloud was officially announced as the next Smasher. It's none other than Shovel Knight that Master Herald said is such a popular choice that Nintendo may just relent to fans clamor.

But first the Super Smash creator needs to address first the one big roadblock cited by Shovel Knight developer, Yacht Club Games, that the character at its present state is not playable on the Smash Bros. platform.

And there are other equally interesting candidates as listed by the same Master Herald report:

  •  Mewtwo from Pokémon
  •  Lucas from Mother 3
  •  Dixie Kong and King R. Rool from Donkey Kong Country
  •  Isaac from Golden Sun
  •  Inkling from Splatoon
  •  Ridley from Metroid
  •  Professor Layton Professor Layton

Whoever will end up marching in with Cloud Strife as part of the Super Smash Bros. 4 DLC update or if they will show up at all along with one more new game stage, Nintendo has the last say and rumors are persistent that the company will make a significant revelation, likely including release date details, using the December Nintendo Direct broadcast as the appropriate occasion.
