Samsung is going to announce Galaxy S7 flagship smartphone early next year. Instead of announcing Galaxy S7 Edge alongside it, the South Korean company is expected to unveil the Galaxy S7 Plus.

ITSkins, a case maker has revealed the dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy S7. It measures 143.37 x 70.8 x 6.94 mm. However, the Galaxy S6 handset that came out last year with 5.1-inch Quad HD display has similar measurements of 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8 mm, GSM Arena reported. Hence, speculations are now suggesting that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be arriving with a 5.1-inch Quad HD display.

In March this year, Samsung had released the Galaxy S6 Edge that came with dual-edge screen along with Galaxy S6. However, fresh information suggests that Galaxy S7 will not be accompanied by a dual-edge screen handset. Instead, Samsung will be releasing a bigger variant of the Galaxy S7 with a larger display. The purported handset will carry the Galaxy S7 Plus moniker.

ITSkins has revealed that the Galaxy S7 Plus measures 163.32 x 82.01 x 7.82 mm. The handset seems to be bigger than the Galaxy S6 Edge+ that houses a 5.7-inch Quad HD screen. The S6 Edge+ measures 154.4 75.8 x 6.9 mm.

The alleged Galaxy S7 Plus is also bigger than Galaxy Mega 2 that measures 163.6 x 84.9 x 8.6 mm and features a 6-inch display. Hence, the Galaxy S7 Plus will be a mammoth handset with a 6-inch Quad HD display.

As far as dual screen edge variant is concerned, Samsung may release such a handset alongside the Galaxy Note 6 later in 2016, Phone Arena reported The South Korean tech giant is likely to unveil the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Plus on Feb. 21 through the Unpacked 2016 event at Barcelona.
