HBO announced at the Television Critics Association on Thursday that "Game of Thrones," "Silicon Valley" and "Veep" will return on April 12, USA Today reported.

"Game of Thrones" will be back at 9 PM EST and will pick up on the story of Arya Stark when she left Westeros and traveled across the Narrow Sea. At the end of season four, The Battle of Castle Black came to a close. Stannis Baratheon met the banker Tycho Nestoris to when he looked for funds to start a war.  

The series deviated a lot from the book, therefore, fans will have to guess as to what happens in the fifth season. The show is the highest rated HBO series of all time.  

"Silicon Valley" will air at 10 PM with a total of 10 episodes for its second season. The show will explore more of Richard and Monica's romantic relationship, which may lead to conflicts in the Pied Piper incubator. Elrich will become more supportive and less selfish in the next season. The sitcom will also add more powerful female characters, Youth Health reported.

"Veep" will return for its fourth season at 10:30 PM and Hugh Laurie will reportedly join the cast as a vice president in the political comedy since Selina Meyer portrayed by Julia Louis-Dreyfus was promoted to commander in chief when season three ended, according to New York Daily News.

The HBO shows are up for their own nominations in the Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 11.  "Game of Thrones" is nominated for the Best Television Series - Drama prize while "Silicon Valley" is nominated for Best Television Series- Musical or Comedy. "Veep's" lead star Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a contender for Best Actress in a television comedy series. Dreyfus previously won three Emmy's for the comedy show.

Other HBO shows that will return on television are "Real Time with Bill Maher" scheduled for 2016 and 2017, and "Vice" slated for its third season on March 6.
