After the release of new Crimson drivers from AMD, gamers across the globe were much happier as the new drivers brought in a lot of improvements in the performance of high end games.
But the same Crimson drivers that were released are now being a worrisome factor for all those who have installed it. Users began reporting bugs and glitches with the new drivers, and some have even reported that the glitches killing numerous GPUs.
Investigating the major glitch that killed the GPUs, it has been found out that the glitch overriding the users settings and setting their fan speed to 20 percent, which is not at all recommended while playing heavy games. Usually the fan speed is "automatic," and hence, the speed increases or decreases depending upon the temperature of the GPU.
As the fan speed is set to 20 percent while playing heavy games like "Counter Strike," "Fallout" and others, due to excessive heat, the GPUs are dying even before the user can realize it.
Meanwhile, users who would still like to play the game with installed new Crimson drivers can click here for a solution, which enables the user to set the fan back to automatic, so that the fan changes its speeds depending on the GPUs temperature; however, it is to be noted that this is a temporary fix as the same needs to be repeated after every reboot.
AMD is still yet to comment on this and it might also end up paying some sort of compensation for the killed GPUs.
