"The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart had a surprising return on Monday night as a guest at the late night show.

Stewart leaved as the host of the late night show four months ago.

CBS News reported that the surprising return of Stewart at "The Daily Show" is to advocate a cause he carried for years.

Stewart said that the Congress, back in 2010, passed the Zadroga Reauthorization Act, "funded healthcare for 9/11 first responders who'd gotten sick working at Ground Zero, the report added.

"It's soon going to be out of money. These first responders, many sick with cancers and pulmonary disease, had to travel at their expense to Washington, D.C., hundreds of times to plead for our government to do the right thing," as Stewart continued at The Daily Show.

Jon Stewart became dedicated to the cause of those who were affected by the 9/11 attacks. It can be noted that the host dedicated a show to the issue relating to the 9/11 first responders. The host said that the first responders of the 9/11 have been forgotten by Washington politics, the report added.

The new host of the show Noah Trevor joked when Jon Stewart appeared in the show as Stewart was not there on Monday to take back as a host.

Stewart said that the people of the Congress were not as good as the first responders as he said that the Congress has yet to announce its support to renew the bill, Vox reported.

The Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, as said by Stewart, had focused more on politics of Washington, the report added.

"The Daily Show" ended by asking the audience to tweet at McConnell and the Speaker Paul Ryan with #WorstResponders.
