Airing on Dec. 9, Wednesday, on TNT, "Supernatural" season 11 episode 9 titled "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" was directed by Robert Singer and written by Eugenie Ross-Leming and Brad Buckner.

Amara has a hold on Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), which the latter will try to better understand in "Supernatural" season 11 episode 9 titled "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) have a plan that has tragic consequences, Broadway World has learned.

It has been a few episodes since Dean Winchester and Sam Winchester had to face the Darkness and handle Amara. In "Supernatural" season 11 episode 9, the brothers turn to those around them for help in getting rid of the Darkness and Padalecki's character explores his visions even further.

In a recent interview with a group of reporters on set of "Supernatural" season 11 in Vancouver, Padalecki and Ackles talked about the mid-season finale and the return of the series in January 2016.

"Episodes 9 and 10 are my favorite episodes in a long, long time," Buddy TV quoted Padalecki as saying. "I love the twists and turns. The brothers are very committed to get rid of the Darkness."

Ackles added that his character also starts to explore his visions and "kind of takes it upon himself to go there without Dean" and leaves him in the dust.
