Schumacher suffered severe head and brain injuries in December 2013 while skiing in the French Alps. The accident left his in a medically induced coma to stabilize the condition.

Currently, the ex-racer is under an extensive rehabilitation program in his home in Geneva Switzerland. Schumi is under constant observation by 15 doctors in advanced medical equipment.

Apart from the medical staff, only close family members and friends are allowed to visit Schumi. While there are many challenges and struggles in the toughest journey towards Schumacher's recovery, the family still keeps the hope that he will fully recover.

Reports reveal that the rehabilitation costs $150,000 per week, which so far has cumulatively hit $15 million. According to the Independent, Corinna, Schumacher's wife, had sold the former champion's € 34m jet to help meet the increasing medical costs. There were also considerations to put the family chalet in France up for sale.

It is reported that Schumacher's family is having a very difficult time to keep up with not only the escalating medical costs but also the slow pace of his recovery. However, they still believe that his health condition will eventually improve, and therefore, they continue giving the former racing champion their full support and love.

Sabine Kehm, Schumi's manager, had initially assured fans that Schumacher's health condition is improving.

In an interview via YouTube, the manager said, "We are happy to say he is still improving and I say this always considering the severeness of the injury he had. But of course it will take a very long time for everybody involved to fight, and we are happy to take this fight."
