Google recently announced that they have proof about the workings of quantum computers.

Google said that they found a quantum algorithm that can solve problems a hundred million times. This quantum algorithm is faster than a conventional processes, Engadget reported.

This discovery of the computing company could lead to the beginnings of artificial intelligence as well as in advancing space missions beyond the current space program we have now, the report said.

Once Google enables to develop this innovation, it would be a technological revolution featuring a smarter and more responsive AI researches as well as NASA's ability to stimulate launches and space missions, the repost said.

The announcement focused on the "quantum annealing." When showed a set of solutions, this technique enables to determine the global minimum for a certain function. Google said that the results are "intriguing and very encouraging," the report added.

Exploration technology director Rupak Biswas of the NASA Ames Research Center in California said that the quantum computer is a disruptive technology. This quantum computer, Biswas added, can change everything, Technology Review reported.

In addition, Google's Quantum AI Lab leader Hartmut Neven said that their research has proven the quantum computer, the report added. Neven said that they achieve a "100-million-fold speed-up" for the crafted "proof-of-concept problem."

It can be noted that in 2013, the D-Wave was considered to be the first quantum computer, but critics said that the machine had not been proven to actually work on the quantum realm, according to the report.
