There has to be more revelations than Cloud Strife at Nintendo Direct December airing for Super Smash Bros. 4, which likely will be the final episode for the game series. Apart from the Final Fantasy VII hero, more downloadable contents or DLCs are likely to be provided following the December 15 broadcast, reports said.

As Nintendo's official announcement on Twitter has indicated, SSB4 creator Masahiro Sakurai "will provide details on Cloud and more." Even as the Japanese game maker is not confirming anything but using the term 'more' only fires up the already wild speculations.

Two things come to mind quickly - Cloud Strife is not alone as the new Super Smash character entry and there's got to be new stages as well. According to iDigitalTimes, data miners have previously detected SSB4 DLC codes that point to two or more slots open for filling up that the upcoming game update will deliver.

Cloud Strife, owns one of them for sure but what about the other placeholders. The best bet for this, iDigitalTimes said, is the result of the online Fighter Ballot that wrapped recently. Nintendo will likely use the December 15 occasion to finally unlock what the fans' survey had said.

And that will only bring back the old rumors that fan-favorite characters are likely to jump into the SSB4 platform and become Smashers. Among the most mentioned are Shovel Knight, Shantae, Banjo-Kazooie and the Inklings. But there are odd nominations as well as the likes of Goku from DragonBall Z and Steve from Minecraft are getting some good amount of anticipation.

Or Nintendo, according to Design & Trend, could finally tease an upcoming Super Smash Bros. 4 version that is especially designed for the wildly rumored Nintendo NX gaming machine. Such scenario is not remote as the device, said to be a hybrid make that is both console and handheld rolled into one, was reported set for mass production March 2016 with the rollout to follow in the immediate months ahead.

And the Nintendo NX build is indeed fast shaping up. The latest update from Tech Times indicates of an NX controller that will feature touch panel and operation sticks for optimal maneuver during game play.

All these talks should get the confirmation (or get shot down) at the Nintendo Direct December 15 session, which for the most part will touch Cloud Strife becoming part of the Super Smash Bros. 4 franchise and the DLC release date details.
