The Chinese company Oukitel has introduced its K10000 Android phone, which it claims has a battery life of 10 to 15 days (10x longer than an iPhone battery) with "regular" use. The mid-range device's 10,000 milliamp hour (mAh) battery seems to get more juice from the power supply than the iPhone 6s mainly due its 8-megapixel rear camera, and 2MP front camera for selfies. It is an alternative to solving battery drain issues with smart cases and USB chargers.
Sony's Xperia Z5 Android phone gets about two days' worth of power from a single charge of its 2900 mAh battery. Based on that fact alone, the Oukitel K10000 would run out of power after 6 days, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
Oukitel's new mid-range smartphone includes a 5.5inch display with 720-pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1 gigahertz quad-core Media Tek processor with 2 gigabytes of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory storage that can be boosted up to 32GB with an external memory card.
The K10000 smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It features a steel frame as well as hex-faceted edges, according to PC Mag.
The Chinese smartphone's battery is so powerful it claims it could fully fuel up three iPhone 6s Plus devices. It would still have 10 percent battery life.
Oukitel's K10000 handset can be pre-ordered online from GearBest for $240, until January 2. Shipping will start on January 21.
Other companies have taken other approaches to keep their smartphone batteries juiced up. They include Huawei's fast-charging lithium-ion batteries, and Apple's Smart Battery Case.
