CBS' popular series "Mike & Molly" is seemingly nearing its end. Apart from an indication given by the show's executive producer Chuck Lorre, two of its stars also have declared on social media that the CBS comedy is heading toward its finish with its 13-episode sixth season.

"We have an order for 13 (episodes) and we have not received any word from CBS that there is life past that 13, so we're looking to have closure here on the series," Lorr, who is also the executive producer of "The Big Bang Theory," told USA Today.

The series' closure was being rumored from past a few days since Rondi Reed, the actress who plays Mike's (Billy Gardell's) mother on the show, took to Facebook to announce that this is the final and sixth season of "Mike & Molly."

"It is also a shortened season (13 episodes) after the announced full renewal of 22 episodes back in March by the network," wrote the actress on the social networking site. She further revealed that the show has been shopped around at WB and Bonanza Production but no takers were found.

Reed also mentioned in the lengthy post that the show will tape its final episode on Jan. 27.

Speculation about the show's future has been circulating since CBS announced its winter schedule.  "Mike & Molly" was allotted to be aired at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays, but only until "Survivor" return in Feburary. CBS is yet to make an official announcement regarding the series' end.

Meanwhile, Melissa McCarthy, who plays the role of Molly in the romantic comedy, took to Twitter to express her shock over the news.

"I was shocked and heartbroken when @CBS canceled #MikeAndMolly," tweeted the 45-year-old actress.

The actress has recently in headlines for debuting her plus-size clothing line, Seven7, in August, New Zealand Herald reported.
