Solo's lawyer Todd Maybrown said that the player was the victim in the situation ever since the case started and the thorough examination revealed that the charges should not have been from the start.

The goalkeeper issued a statement on social media reading the dismissal of her case.

She wrote: "Today's decision brings closure to what has been one of the most difficult and emotionally draining times of my life. I always had faith that once the facts of the case were presented, I would be cleared of all charges and I am so happy and relieved to finally have it all behind me."

The soccer star was charged with two counts of fourth degree misdemeanor physical assault by her half-sister and nephew in Kirkland. According to the documents, the incident occurred when Solo was reportedly drunk and his nephew commented that Solo is "too fat and overweight and crazy to ever be an athlete."

As a reaction, the player reportedly punched and tackled her nephew. When the mother of the boy, Solo's half-sister intervened, the player allegedly attacked her as well. The nephew who is 6 feet and 9 inches tall and weighs 20 pounds allegedly broke a broom over Solo's head that left a concussion, according to Los Angeles Times.

Solo's half-sister and nephew failed to show up at the court hearings and the judge decided to renew an order for deposition.  The accusers also reportedly declined an interview and changed their narrations about the alleged attack.

The goalkeeper would have been suspended from playing by the United States Soccer Federation if she was found guilty. With the dismissal of the case, Solo can now prepare and participate freely at the Women's World Cup in Canada in June.
