‘NCIS’ Season 13 Episode 12 Airdate, Spoilers: What Happens When The Show Returns After Midseason Finale On ‘Sister City’

After airing an explosive midseason finale, "NCIS" Season 13 has taken a brief winter hiatus. Now, the show will return next year with a special crossover segment. Episode 12 titled "Sister City" happens to be a two-part event featuring a crossover with the spinoff series "NCIS: New Orleans." Here are few spoilers for the forthcoming segment. The network has already confirmed the airdate and synopsis for "NCIS" Season 13 winter premiere and it's not too far away. Episode 12 "Sister City" will go on air on Jan. 5, 2016, the same day when "NCIS: New Orleans" features its winter premiere with the crossover segment "Sister City" (Part Two).

CBS' two fan-favourite police procedurals will tie-in for a special segment. According to Cartermatt, the Washington DC and New Orleans teams from Naval Criminal Investigative Services will collaborate to solve a "complicated case." The case surrounds Abby's brother Luca, who will make a debut on "NCIS" Season 13 Episode 12, finds himself in hot seat after the passengers of the plane he was on duty are found dead.

The synopsis for "Sister City (Part One), Luca was serving as a chef on a private plane carrying passengers from New Orleans to Washington DC. The passengers are dead after suspected to have been poisoned with the food they had on board. Luca, the chef on the plane, becomes the prime suspect of the mass murder of the members of private tech company.

"NCIS" Season 13 Episode 12 continues with Part 2 in "NCIS: New Orleans" Season 2 Episode 12. The synopsis suggests that during the investigation the two teams find a link between Russian sleeper agent and Luca. Upon their discovery, Sebastian asks D.C. to work with Abby on the forensics. Meanwhile, Bishop will be seen delivering a package as he continues to work with the New Orleans team.

According to TV Line, actor Tyler Ritter will play the role of Luca on "NCIS" Season 13 and "NCIS: New Orleans" Season 2 crossover winter premieres. Speaking to the abovementioned publication, showrunner Gary Glasberg talked Tyler Ritter's character.

"Tyler embodies everything we were looking for in Luca Sciuto," Glasberg said. "He's warm, caring, funny, eccentric, offbeat and inquisitive. We are thrilled to have him for this very special crossover episode of 'NCIS' and 'NCIS: New Orleans.'"
