J.J. Abrams' space sci-fi film "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" had its red carpet movie premiere and during the event, Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker reportedly went to the Dark Side.

On Dec. 4, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, and John Boyega, along with rest of the cast of Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" covered four blocks Hollywood for the film premiere and after-party.

In an intervew with ABC News, "Star Wars" newbie Ridley said that she was nervous to see the fans' feedback on the movie and her character.

Boyega, who plays Finn in the film, said that it was about time. Boyega added that they had been working on the film, sharing that they had struggled. The actor also recalled that he had audtioned for seven months and they should have a "big-a** frikin'" premiere.

Anthony Daniels, who plays the droid C-3PO in Abrams' "The Force Awakens," suggested that the event was nothing like the release of the 1977 original "Star Wars" film. In the same interview, he said that he did not think they really had one. He added that "Star Wars" had minimal marketing budget when it first opened and word-of-mouth marketing had let the film to be come viral.

Ford reprises his role as Han Solo in Abrams' "The Force Awakens." In the same interview, the actor said that he did not think people were going to be disappointed. He added that the movie was good and he was really excited to get the movie out for the audience and see how they fet about it.

Hamill, who reprises his original role Luke Skywalker, did not reveal the reason behind his character's absense in the marketing materials like the film posters and trailers. In the same interview, Hamill said that fans would find the answer to their qquestions in a couple of hours. "Why ruin it now?," he said.

Unlike before, Hamill, who is usually very generous with "Star Wars" fans, went to the Dark Side because her refused to sign autographs on his fans' possessions, according to Telegraph UK. The actor has reportedly seen several of his autographed items on eBay. With regard his character in "The Force Awakens," Skywalker's robotic hand is set to be seen touching the head of R2-D2.

"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," which is set 30 years after the events in the "Return of Jedi." The film stars Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Max von Sydow, Simon Pegg, Oscar Isaac, and Domhnall Gleeson, among others.

Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Dec. 18.
