According to previous reports, the "Downton Abbey" actress was in a promotional tour with her co-stars on CBS' "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" and Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live." Despite of Dineen's condition, the actress still presented her professionalism.

After learning her fiance's illness, Dockery reportedly flew from the United States to Ireland to be with Dineen and his family while the rest of the "Downton Abbey" cast remained in the U.S. and had picture taking at the White House.

According to Irish Independent, Dineen had been working in London, but had returned to Ireland to spend time with his family after her was diagnosed with cancer. The "Plotlands" actor had reported gone to Germany earlier in 2015 for his cancer treatment.

Dockery and Dineen were introduced by the former's "Downton Abbey" co-star Allen Leech in 2013. In the same year, the couple was seen smiling and kissing during a holiday at the Venice Festival.

On Dec. 15, Dockery led the mourners in paying tribute and respect to Dineen at an emotional ceremony prior to the latter's funeral.
