In today's smartphone market, one of the biggest hindrances is battery life. A regular smartphone's battery pack could last for up to a day, at most. Despite advances in computing and storage capacities, it seems that hardware manufacturers have yet to find the solution to fix the smartphone's limited battery life.

Enter the Oukitel K10000, a smartphone which can last up to 10 days in a single charge. Oukitel claims that the K10000, as the name suggests, packs a massive 10,000mAh battery pack that the company said can last between 10 to 15 days on normal use.

The K10000 might sport an impressive battery pack, however there are some trade-offs. The smartphone's other specs are not nearly as impressive as its battery. Tech experts rated it as somewhere around the lower-middle tier of the smartphone market, if the specs are to be rated.

According to CNet, the Oukitel K10000 sports a 5.5-inch display with a 720 x 1280 HD screen resolution. It has a quad-core 1GHz processor from MediaTek and 2GB of internal memory. Storage space is limited to a 16GB model, which can be expanded.

According to ZDnet, the Oukitel K10000 has an 8-megapixel rear facing camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

The K10000 has a steel frame and hexa-faceted edges.

The massive battery pack of the Oukitel K10000 means that it can also work as a portable power bank, aside from being a traditional smartphone. Oukitel claims that after fully recharging three iPhone 6S Plus units, the K10000 will still have at least 10 percent of charge left on it.

As of this writing the Oukitel K10000 is only available in China and will hit the Chinese market on Jan. 21. Speculations claim that an unlocked version of the smartphone might not be fully compatible with network carriers in the United States. However, there are tech analysts claiming that the massive battery pack, as well as the affordable $240 price tag it carries, will be enough to entice US-based retailers to release the phone in the region.
