Since a leaked photo of a prototype model of a purported Moto X 2016 has surfaced, rumors are suggesting that Motorola is working on a successor model for Moto X Style.
The leaked photo that showcases the rear panel of the rumored Moto X (Gen 4) smartphone indicate that the handset is going to arrive with full metal design, Phone Arena reported. All the predecessor models in the Moto X series feature polycarbonate chassis.
It indicates that like most OEMs, Motorola may give away the usage of polycarbonate chassis and instead use a metal unibody design. With polycarbonate chassis on Moto X series smartphones, Motorola has provided MotoMaker customization feature to personalize the appeal of the handset. Since metal body is expected, it is not sure what sort of customization will arrive with Moto X 2016.
At the top portion, there is a slot for rear-facing camera. Since it features a large camera cutout, speculations are suggesting that the handset is likely to feature an enhanced camera. The Moto X Style that was announced in July this year is fitted with 21-megapixel camera.
Below the camera, there is a Motorola logo and at the bottom portion speaker grilles can be seen. It also suggests that the Moto X 2016 will be built to produce best multimedia experience.
There are no details available on the specifications of Moto X (Gen 4). However, as most flagship smartphones in the next year are expected to be powered by Snapdragon 820, the Moto X Style successor to feature the same chipset, Venture Beat reported.
As far as Moto X 2016 release date is concerned, it is expected to release next year by third quarter as predecessor Moto X models have also released in the third quarter in the past years. It will be accompanied by successor models for Moto G 2015 and Moto E 2015.
