The film sees Cooper toggling between his family life at home in Texas and numerous tours in Iraq. He says that showing the movie in D.C carries its own importance, as this is the place where a lot of important, political and military decisions are taken. The Vice President Biden and his wife, Jill also came for the screening and the Secret Service agents made way for them in the midst of the stars.

The "American Sniper" movie premiered at Cinemark West Plano and Cooper felt honored to be there on Wednesday night. He thinks that the movie has tried to portray Chris' story as closely as possible, and people would apparently be able to relate to it. It was an endeavor to draw attention to America's military veterans and their condition, according to The Blaze.

The movie recounts Chris Kyle's journey and how he became a trained sniper from being a rodeo. After a decade of service, which included four assignments in Iraq, he was discharged honorably. Cooper seems to have done an excellent job, according to Taya Kyle, wife of Chris, when she was asked about how the actor portrayed her husband. The movie showcases the difficult decisions faced by the sniper and when he returned from war.
