Along with Samsung's Galaxy S5 and Sony's Z Series, Apple's iPhone 7 could be the Cupertino-based company's first waterproof phone in several ways and joined by iPhone 6c or iPhone7c.
Apple is already working on the adaptability of its gadget line in water, according to Mac World. An iPhone 6s accidentally dropped in water did not lead to the expected damage in the handset and this led the Cupertino-based company to improve the iPhone's resistance to water, as suggested by anecdotal reports.
Running around the internal surface of the iPhone 6s case is a new gasket, which helps keep water out. In addition the connectors on the logic board of Apple's latest handset are lined with silicone, which prevents them from shorting out.
In 2015, Apple applied a patent on an updated structure of its handheld devices, which includes waterproof buttons and waterproof ports. In line with waterproofing its iPhones, Apple has also taken into account dropping the headphone jack from the next iPhone model; thus, the iPhone 7 is set to carry these features.
According to Trend Force, the waterproofing of Apple's iPhone 7 is set to be one of the two main features of the handheld device, the other being a 3GB RAM. According to speculations, the iPhoen 7 would also feature three screen sizes, including 5.5 inches and 4.7 inches, a full HD resolution on the 4.7-inch version, wireless charging capacity, and an expandable storage of up to 2TB.
Aside from the iPhone 7 features, it is also reported that the waterproof iPhone 7 will be joined by a third 4-inch display iPhone model, which is either the iPhone 6c or iPhone 7c. With the time and effort Apple has given for the rise of a waterproof iPhone, it is assumed that the Cupertino-based company is aiming to that path.
