Many people say that the National Costume segment in the Miss Universe 2015 resembled the famous Victoria Secret Fashion Show.
Miss Universe 2015 preliminary contest was played out in Las Vegas this week with 80 contestants battling it out for the crown. Participants donned their evening gowns, swimwear and national costumes.
People worldwide are glued on the screens waiting for the results on Sunday night. However, the recent National Costumes segment of the pageant reminded us of the annual fashion show of a lingerie brand.
The segment is full of wings and bikini. Many countries interpreted and showcased their national costumes at a whole new level. Some contestants donned skimpy, but elaborate national costumes.
People took no time to post their own take and criticisms on the national costumes through social media. Some people blatantly said on Facebook and Twitter that some of the dresses are like costumes donned by Victoria Secret models.
One soul in Facebook said that Miss Denmark Cecilie Wellemberg looked like Victoria Secret angel Doutzen Kroes in her swan-inspired national costume complete with wings.
Coronation night is on Sunday.
