Michael Keaton is in talks for his next big role and the movie is about the fast rise of the McDonald's fast food empire. The actor, who won a Golden Globe for his work in "Birdman," will star in "The Founder," as reported by Hollywood Reporter.

The film will be produced by The Combine and FilmNation and directed by John Lee Hancock. The drama will unfold the real story of how Ray Kroc, a small salesman from Illinois who meets brothers Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger joint in Southern California. He buys the company from the brothers and goes on to create the billion dollar empire.

Keaton is all set to essay the role of Kroc. After his intense performance in "Birdman," the actor is surely enjoying the new revival in his career. He has already received BAFTA Award nominations for his recent work and SAG Award according to Slash Film.

The Academy Award contestant and Golden Globe champ is already busy in negotiations and having meetings with the director and producer of the film. Keaton had always been interested in doing the role since 2014, but was eager to know as to who would direct the film. Tom Hanks was known to have been approached for the role, but he decided to pass.

Keaton will be getting a formal offer soon, and he is eager to play the role of the salesman from the 1950s in Illinois in Southern California."The Founder" will feature the story of how the salesman was able to buy the company for $2.7 million and made it a billion dollar empire.
