Rumors have it that WhatsApp will soon launching video calling feature for iOS and Android users.

According to a German blog, WhatsApp for iOS will soon receive video calling support in its next major update, International Business Times reported. A leaked screenshot of the video calling support for WhatsApp for iOS has revealed the features it will bring along.

Video calling on WhatsApp will be available for users through Wi-Fi and cellular data. When a video call will be initiated, the caller will be able to his preview image at the top of the calling interface. The preview window is movable and can be dragged anywhere on the screen.

Users will be able to use rear and front cameras and switching between during a video call. It will also provide users with a mute function. The source has revealed currently video calling is supported by the internal version 2.12.16.2 of WhatsApp. The current 2.12.12 WhatsApp for iOS version available on App Store does not support it.

Rumors are suggesting the upcoming WhatsApp version update will carry the video calling feature for iOS users. As far as Android users are concerned, the feature will be made available after it arrives for iOS devices.

The next WhatsApp version update is also expected to feature multiple chats tab. It will let users to easily switch through different conversations without going to the WhatsApp chat list.

WhatsApp users can also expect the app to sport a newer interface in the near future. Rumors are suggesting that the app will receive a makeover to support Go Green campaign.

WhatsApp users received voice calling support in April this year. The video calling support is likely to arrive before the end of the year, iDownload Blog reported.
