"This is big. This is much bigger than me," Tambor said during his Golden Globes award acceptance speech. He thanked the transgender community for the courage, inspiration and patience and for allowing him to be "a part of the change."

In 2014, "Modern Family" also received two nominations, which are Best Television Series- Comedy or Musical and Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for Sofia Vergara.
